The University of the West Indies is one of the oldest tertiary institutions in Jamaica. It now proudly boasts four campuses across the Caribbean region; providing excellence in higher education to Caribbean citizens. UWI fulfils its mandate by offering high quality education to citizens of the 15 contributing countries in the Caribbean region as well as international students from all over the world. Mary Seacole Hall. Mary Seacole Hall is for females only; Chancellor Hall is for males only while the remaining halls are co-ed.. Student Loan Bureau (SLB), an agency of the Jamaican Government, offers educational loans to needy Jamaican students who are pursuing programmes accredited by University Council of Jamaica (UCJ). A list of accredited programmes is available on the UCJ's website. The application period for SLB is from January to April of each year.
